Monday, April 21 brought a change in ownership for the popular bar and restaurant, The Hill House, on the south side of Boyd. Jessica Conley purchased the successful business from Bill and Betsy Marion, owners since 2018, and has named it Conley’s Hill House Bar & Grill.
Jessica was born in North Carolina but moved to Boyd to be near family with her husband, Christian, 13 years ago. She is no stranger to the bar business as she tended bar for a previous owner, Ben Lorenz (when the bar was called Ben’s Pub and Grill). She also spent 7 years working at The Sand Bar in Lafayette where she has been the General Manager for the last 4 years. Jessica’s mom, Jill, is also familiar to local patrons as she’s been a bartender at the Hill House for years.
At Conley’s Hill House Bar & Grill, customers can enjoy great service and camaraderie Monday through Sunday, 11 a.m. to closing. There will be drink specials from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, along with select $4 appetizers during that time. They will continue to offer the broasted chicken, burgers and the Friday fish fry, and hope to add additional items like salads and wraps in the future. Bingo will also be on tap every other Monday at 6:30 p.m. beginning May 6. Jessica is also planning a Customer Appreciation party this spring. She appreciates all the support given to Bill and Betsy over the past 5 years and hopes to be able to continue the tradition of providing a “friendly neighborhood bar with great food and drinks”. You can check out the new Facebook page, Conley’s Hill House for information and upcoming events, or contact them at 715-703-1024.
Make sure to stop in at the corner of Highways X and D and welcome Jessica and Christian to the Boyd business community. You’ll probably run into someone there you know!
