The Stanley Theater Legacy announced that it will be bringing Legacy Events to the movie theater in the near future, starting with the Chris Kroeze Concert on April 20 that also features local group, The Brady Luke Band. Theresa Pries, co-owner of the Stanley Theater, mentioned that the Stanley Theater understands how integral it is to the community and to other people’s families since its beginning in 1936.
“We recognize that we are part of the community and being part of people’s legacies,” Pries stated. Cecelia Eslinger, Pries’s mother, purchased the Theater in 1968 and continued operating the theater with her husband, Daniel and six children, making memories, and bringing joy to local residents even through many challenges and difficulties. After Daniel’s passing, Pries and two of her siblings, Gloria Eslinger and Louis Eslinger, continue to bring the nostalgia of the small-town theater to the community.
Pries described the uniqueness of the theater stating, “There’s not many single screen theaters left in the United States or in Wisconsin. We’ve been open continuously since 1936.”
Known for their generosity to the local community, the Stanley Theater will be hosting their annual Easter Free Show for the community on Saturday, March 30th with showings of ‘Trolls Band Together’ at 10 am and 1 am. All admissions are free and include a special visit from the Easter Bunny after the show.
Pries mentioned that the new Legacy Events happening at the Stanley Theater will include live music, comedy shows, and some big screen classic showings like Steel Magnolias, Blazing Saddles, and Gone with the Wind with the first concert event featuring Chris Kroeze.
“I’m basically almost sold out,” Pries mentioned of the concert and shared that she opened up a few more seats for the April 20th concert when Kroeze takes the stage at 7pm. With early bird pricing finished, general admission tickets start at $65. VIP tickets begin at $100 and includes a seat in the VIP section, a popcorn ticket, a gourmet concession item, and four drinks tickets of an alcoholic or non-alcoholic beverage. From there ticket options go to $125 for Meet & Greet VIP tickets which includes the previously mentioned items and allows the ticket holder to meet Chris Kroeze and The Brady Luke Band along with free food and drinks during the meet and greet.
