Coming up fast, the 2024-2025 track season at Stanley-Boyd heads to UW-Stout for a varsity invite Friday and Saturday. Orioles head coach Bob Seidl shared more from Forward Field this past Friday.
“The boys should be solid,” he said of what to expect for competition this year. “We should be competing for conference championship. Last year we took second,” he said.
As to specifics, Seidl said the boys team this year will have distance runner Lucas Walker, as well as Madden Mahr, Carson Hodwanic, and Cole Brenner.
As for the girls, Coach Seidl said that the present will be a rebuilding year, with only one senior, in thrower Kylie Hetchler. The strongest at present is hurdler Lula Chwala, who finished third last year.
With the roster as a whole still in flux but with many returning athletes, the first meet with other schools is at Stout this Friday.
“It’s a 200 meter track,” Seidl said. “Get kids on it, say ‘OK, this is what we need to do.’ Start building.”
