FBLA to host 41st annual craft fair!

RIVER FALLS – The River Falls High School Chapter of the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) is hosting its 41st annual Craft Fair on Saturday, Nov. 20 from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the River Falls High School, located at 818 Cemetery Road, River Falls. There is no admission charge.

The event started in 1980 with 15 exhibitors. Now, 40 years later, there will be more than 75 exhibitors offering a wide variety of holiday and other hand-made crafts. This is a perfect opportunity for early holiday shopping._ There will be a variety of food options such as homemade soups and sandwiches available. There is also childcare from 9 a.m. to noon.

The FBLA team gives high school students hands-on experience in business development and community service. Proceeds from the Craft Fair are used to fund student activities including local, state and national leadership conferences.

Freddy is a well-known mascot on campus and in the community, attending many student activities and sporting events. Freddy has quite a following and brings smiles and cheers everywhere he goes.

The mascot’s history dates back to October 1931 when he was officially adopted as UWRF’s mascot following an allschool election to select a nickname for its sports teams.

Freddy’s costume has changed through the years, but his purpose has not – Freddy is always at the ready to pep-up crowds and bring energy and joy to the sidelines. It wasn’t until 1984 that the UWRF Student Senate voted to purchase the full costume that Falcon fans have come to know and love today.

Happy Birthday, Freddy!
