Pretrial Conference in lawsuit over alleged age discrimination fails to resolve matter

The suit will move forward. Following the hiring of a water operator trainee by the city last year and suit by applicant Ed Schiltz over alleged age discrimination against him in the matter, a pretrial conference on the matter has failed to bring resolution to the issue. With the case assigned to District Judge William M. Conley and per a pretrial conference order, amendments to the pleading are due by Oct. 18 of this year, while dispositive motions are due May 5, 2023.

The first final pretrial conference has been set for Oct. 17, 2023 at 2:30 p.m., with a Second Final Pretrial set for October 24, 2023 at 2:30 p.m.

Should settlement not be reached, Jury selection and trail in the age discrimination lawsuit will take place Oct. 30, 2023 at 9 a.m.
