Now 50 years on and still going strong, Boyd Little League held its annual Family Fun Night Thursday, July 3. With concessions open at Lotz Park and tournament play starting at 6 p.m., attendees to the Boyd Little League had a good time.
With 2025 Miss Boyd Ava Prahl and Boyd Princess Skylar Gohde on hand to help, Boyd Little League Night featured a bounce house for the kids, along with music.
Towards dusk a storm moving in from the east and south made things interesting, but didn’t cancel the fireworks, which still took place shortly after 10 p.m. Still strong 50 years on, a banner with various newspaper clippings of the beginning was displayed on a building just south of the announcer’s backstop, thanking the Little League’s founder’s for their vision.
With original league members now grandparents, the Boyd Little League tradition shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
