Dear Editor:
Ref your article of 8/15/25 regarding memories of W Maple St. There was a item about the Wasilewski house on that street that was once owned by John Pirus. He was my Grandfather and I lived there from the time I was born on 8/7/1949 till the time we moved to California in 1963. He ran the Square Deal Cleaners in town. I used to play over at the old Tannery Town ruins many a time. Would follow the old what looked like a rail line over to the ruins. Had many a fun day playing there. Across the street as the Hofstetter house and palled around with Billy Hofstetter (William) Next to that was the VanZupthen home and Michael was another great friend growing. Best of times. Too bad lost track of both William and Michael over the decades but I am still hanging around at 76.
