The Stanley-Boyd High School band and choir took the stage on Monday evening for a delightful concert that captivated the audience with a diverse array of performances. Under the direction of Devon Wenndt, Director of Bands, and Louella Derrico, Director of Choirs, the program showcased the exceptional skills of the students as friends and family gathered to support their talented performers. From the choir’s heartfelt rendition of “I’ll Count the Stars” by Andy Bek to the band’s lively energy of the Blink 182 hit, “All the Small Things”, the students demonstrated their remarkable talents and passion for music. Each performance resonated deeply with the audience, demonstrating the hard work and dedication of the young musicians. The choir’s creative interpretation of “I’ll Tell My Mah”, brought warmth and emotion, while the band delivered a powerful interpretation of the Pearl Harbor score, capturing the film’s essence. The program also featured iconic selections from the beloved musical Wicked. Derrico took the opportunity to highlight several students for their participation in the conference honors choir experience. The All-Conference Choir Participants included Grace Schmidt, Caroline Johnson, Alexis Baughman, Landen Fredrickson, Zeke Czubakowski, Seth Zastrow, Carter Isenberger, Cassidy Kodl, Sydney Gundlach, and Chloe Isenberger. Looking ahead, the High School Choir will perform at the Veteran’s Day Program on Nov. 11 that will be held at the Stanley-Boyd High School, followed by the Middle School and High School Christmas Concert on Dec. 16 at 7 p.m.
