Aspirus Stanley looks to fill void

Posted

With HSHS recently announcing its exit with Prevea from Western Wisconsin and both Sacred Heart of Eau Claire and St. Joseph’s of Chippewa Falls closing, the news likely leaves a question in the minds of many: what about healthcare?
Not everyone has left, with Aspirus Health among the providers still in the area. We put questions to Aspirus on what they offer and received answers.
“Our hearts go out to those impacted by the difficult decisions other regional health systems have made,” Aspirus Health spokesperson Andrew Krauss said. “The health care industry is experiencing headwinds, and we are thankful that Aspirus Health remains strong and growing during this time of change.”
For those who may be in need of a new health care provider, Krauss said that Aspirus Stanley Hospital and Clinics offer both primary care and speciality outpatient services, as well as inpatient care, swing bed services, and 24 hour emergency/urgent care.
Sites with Aspirus clinics include Stanley, Owen, and Thorp, with 13 hospitals total in Wisconsin and 75 clinics. Aspirus Health offers home health and hospice care, pharmacies (including at Aspirus Stanley), critical care and air-medical transport, as well as nursing homes and a broad network of physicians.
As to insurance, Krauss said that Aspirus contracts with most payors in the region, including health maintenance organizations (HMOs), preferred provider organizations (PPOs), and network only or “broker” arrangements. Aspirus also contracts directly with employers and community business coalitions. A complete listing for those with insurance questions can be found at https://www.aspirus.org/participating-payors.
“Our mission is to heal people, promote health and strengthen communities, Krauss said. “As such, we will do everything we can to welcome impacted employees and providers, and to provide care options for displaced patients.”
