STANLEY POLICE Reports

January 30 1:03 a.m. Stanley Police we recalled to assist with a gas skip at the Stanley Travel Stop. Assistance was provided such that the person was identified and the issue was resolved.

8:40 a.m. A death was reported in the city. 2:38 p.m. A homeless woman requested assistance from the Stanley police. 3:57 p.m.

The Panda Garden on South Broadway was reported to have had an emergency that required closing for that day. Both doors of the business were locked up.

6:13 p.m. Stanley Police were called to the intersection of South Broadway and Sawmill for a two-vehicle crash. The operator of the striking vehicle, 63-year-old Victor Piricki, stated that his brakes failed as he exited highway 29 eastbound and that he could not stop for oncoming traffic at the bot tom of the off ramp. Five citations issued as a result of the incident.

January 31 6:51 p.m. Police were requested for a two-vehicle accident in the McDonald’s parking lot. 10:48 p.m.

Police conducted a traffic stop for an equipment violation. February 1 6:56 p.m. Police were requested to help the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department with making contact with a Stanley resident.

8:17 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for non-registration.

9:20 p.m. Police were requested for a gas skip at the Stanley Travel Stop.

11:36 p.m. Stanley K9 Officer Trey and han dler were requested to assist the Rusk County Sheriff's Office with tracking someone wanted on felony charges.

February 2 8:43 a.m. Assistance was provided to EMS as needed with an individual experiencing a medical issue.

10:00 a.m. Information was received regarding a threat of harm that had been made by one student to another. Report to follow. 3:46 p.m.

Information received regarding concerning a possible threat directed at a student from another student. Report to follow. 5:54 p.m.

Fraud complaint called in from West Maple Street after the caller located inaccurate charges on their bank account statement. Incident pulled for documentation.

6:46 p.m. A check person request was received for an unknown man upset about a business transaction at Fam- ily Dollar. Upon officer arrival it was advised that the man was no longer there.

February 3 6:38 p.m. Police called to assist EMS for a Life Alert activation. Upon arrival an elderly patient was located on the floor. Stanley First Responders ren dered aid.

February 4 7:43 a.m. Stanley Police were requested for a disabled vehicle at State Highway 29 and South Broadway Street. Police responded to the area and the vehicle was located. Assistance was given until the vehicle was removed.

4:26 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for an out-of-control young person on Gilman Street. Stanley Police responded, and it was later determined the child would be placed with respite care. Report to follow.

7:28 p.m. Police were requested to the Family Dollar for possible illegal drugs found on the floor.

8:24 p.m.

Traffic stop conducted for a traf – fic violation with the driver being warned. 8:30 p.m.

Police were requested to respond to the Family Dollar for a suspicious looking vehicle.

February 5 12:26 p.m. Stanley Police were requested to assist with an EMS call at the Homeplace for a patient who was reported as being combative.. Upon officer ar rival the person was calm and transported without incident.

6:53 p.m. Police took report of a young runaway from the 300 block of 2nd Avenue.

9:15 p.m.

A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation, with the result that 23-year-old Ryan Micke of Boyd was cited for Operating After Suspension.

February 6 2:52 p.m. Stanley Police observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit, with the result that Casey Martin, age 38, was cited for speeding.

4:45 p.m. Stanley Police observed a vehicle traveling faster than the posted speed limit. The vehicle was stopped and its operator Brittany Rosemeyer, age 19, was cited for speeding.

6:48 p.m. Police were requested on Gilman Street for an out of control young person.

10:42 p.m.

Police were requested for EMS assistance.

February 7 7:31 a.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for operating after suspension, with the vehicle’s operator and lone occupant, 23-year-old Ryan J. Micke cited for the same.

12:17 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for a vehicle lockout in the 800 block of Janicki road. Vehicle was unlocked.

2:58 p.m. The Stanley Police Department conducted a traffic stop for non-regis tration of vehicle, with the result that operator Jonathan W. Odenbreit, age 20, was cited for same.

6:29 p.m. Emergency detention on Gilman Street.

February 8 12:06 p.m. Stanley Police were dispatched for a traffic complaint traveling west bound on State Highway 29. Dispatch was advised that the vehicle was a truck pulling a cattle trailer all over the road and wouldn’t allow other vehicles to pass. 6:29 p.m. “Child custody issue. Report to follow.” 11:05 p.m.

Traffic stop carried out on vehicle that did not have current registration or title. A verbal warnings given to register and transfer the title, with the operator later returning to the police department on February 12 to resolve the issue.

February 9 12:16 a.m. 911 investigate call in the 300 block of South Broadway. Officer spoke to two residents who advised there were phone issues but no emergency.

10:40 a.m.

Stanley Police were requested for a two-vehicle accident.

6:21 p.m. Stanley Police were requested to respond to the 36300 block of 90th Street to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff's Office with a check welfare call. Officers remained on scene and assisted until they were no longer needed.

10:55 p.m. Call for suspicious vehicle in the 100 block fo North Emery Street from a man who stated suspicious vehicles parked near curly vacant RVs. Area was monitored for the rest of the evening with nothing being found.
