Stanley, WI - The 14th annual Stanley Lion’s Club Watermelon Fest 5k Run/Walk will be held this year at Chapman Park in Stanley on Sunday, July 26th starting at 9 a.m. This annual 3.1 mile run/walk is held in coordination with the Stanley Lion’s Club Watermelon Festival. Registration starts at 7:30 a.m. at Chapman Park at the community building. Pre-registration is $20 and day of registration $25. The out-and-back course will start at Chapman Park and head east on 8th Avenue then going north on Broadway Street then west on 10th Avenue before turning around back to the park. All proceeds support local, state and international Lion’s Club projects. All participants will receive Watermelon themed socks. Overall male and female winners receive Watermelon Fest bobble head awards and all division winners receive a fresh chilled watermelon. Following the run/walk there will be a free 400-yard kid’s run starting around 10:15am.
