Martino’s to host Pizza and Fire Prevention Fundraiser this Sunday

It’s back! Taking place once a year, the Martino’s Pizza and Fire Prevention Fundraiser will take place Sunday, Oct. 4 from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. With firefighters in the kitchen, all proceeds from the fundraiser at 965 Pine Street will go to local fire department needs in Stanley and Boyd. Pizzas are limited to one topping and can be dine-in or pick up.
“Pizza and Fire Prevention is back!” Martino’s Restaurant owners Megan and John Junker said recently. “Next Sunday, Oct. 4 we’re bringing our community together for our annual Pizza and Prevention Event at Martino’s!” This is one of those events that means a lot to us—a chance to enjoy some great food, have some fun, and most importantly, support our local Stanley and Boyd Fire and EMS departments and thank them for everything they do for our communities.”
Martino’s has fun events planned Sunday as well.
Among them, the Stanley Fire Truck and Boyd ambulance will be on site Sunday as in years past as the annual fundraiser raises funds for the Stanley and Boyd fire departments. Other activities include a bouncy house by Hazuga’s and possible kid’s tattoos. Smoke alarms from Forward Bank and Insurance and refreshments from Performance Food Group and Pepsi will be available as well. See page 3 for details
Also as in years past firefighters staff the kitchen, drive-thru and restaurant dinging area, with proceeds from Pizza and Fire Prevention going towards local fire department needs for Stanley and Boyd. Restaurant staff also donate their time at the once a year fundraiser for local fire department needs.
Pizzas are kept to one topping during the event for speed of service, with orders on-site or by pre-order at 715-644-3334.
With over $110,000 raised by Martino’s for community causes since 2011, fire department purchases with fundraiser proceeds have included a Gravely UTV and TNT Rescue equipment and Jaws. Fundraiser proceeds have also been used to pay for a portion of the Stanley Fire rescue truck, as well as EMT personnel costs for Boyd-Edson-Delmar Fire and EMS.
Boyd-Edson-Delmar and Stanley Fire Chief Ron Patten shared how the fundraiser helps local fire department needs.
“It helps support buying equipment or vehicles, whatever the department needs,” he said. Fire Department projects are often started with fundraiser money and then added to by the municipality. This year’s fundraiser proceeds will go toward the new fire engine for Stanley, while those for Boyd will go towards equipment or a new engine at Boyd.
Come on out Sunday and support the firefighters!
