2024 City Wide Thrift Sales to be held May 30, 31st and June 1st

Many of us find ourselves in spring cleaning mode, which is a time to hit the reset button on our spaces! This year the city-wide thrift sales have been moved from their previous date of mid August to the end of May. In the past the Stanley Area Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Stanley Republican have coordinated the sales— but this year the Stanley Community Association will be taking the reins. The sales will take place Thursday May 30th through June 1st. The last day to register is May 10th as time is needed to get everything mapped, typed and printed so please get those registration forms in early as the mail can be unpredictable. You can register 3 ways: A link to online registration can be found on our website (stanleycommunity.us) or our facebook page. Clip the registration form from this article and mail it along with your payment of $10.00/sale to SCA PO. BOX 11 Stanley, WI 54768. You can also pick up a copy of the registration form at City Hall or Hansen’s IGA during normal business hours and mail it along with payment. Payments can also be made electronically via Venmo. An SCA member will deliver the signs to the addresses provided on the registration forms on Wednesday May 29th and will pick them up on Saturday evening or Sunday.
During the city wide sales the SCA will be hosting a large sale at the Community Building with proceeds from that sale going towards the “Play Big, Dream Bigger ‘’ campaign. With living in a small town we understand sometimes living outside of the city limits it can be difficult to host a sale that people will travel too, so this year we are offering that Community members can set up a mini sale for $10.00 in the park–bring your own tables, tents, and set up a thrift sale in Chapman Park (This would be at your own risk–SCA is not responsible for security of your items) Price to help cover advertising costs, and expenses. Areas can be as big as you need–but you or someone you deem responsible for your sale must be present at all times. Businesses wanting to host a sidewalk sale, special events, etc: $15.00. This fee would include you as a Thrift Sale Sponsor and will be listed on Facebook and on the map as a sponsor with sale/promo description. There are some organizations that will be hosting some fundraisers during the sale as well. The Stanley Lions club will be selling Cheese Curds on Friday and the Chamber of Commerce will be selling pulled pork nachos and other items–both organizations will be set up near Soo Line Pavilion. Additional information can be found on our website (stanleycommunity.us) or call 715-338-5829 if you have any questions. The Stanley Community Association looks forward to taking these sales and making each year bigger and better!
