The Otter Lake Booster Club will host their 44th Annual Charcoal Chicken Dinner on Sunday, July 20 at the Otter Lake Day Use Park at Otter Lake.
Included in this year’s dinner from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. are food, fun, and good times. Among the activities are dancing, raffles, and a local variety band called the Home Grown Tomatoes. Raffle ticket prizes this year include a chance at 50 cash prizes, event proceeds going towards getting a handicap fishing dock for the day use park.
No carry-ins please.
Formed over 50 years ago to help promote Otter Lake, the Otter Lake Booster Club exists to enhance and preserve the public value of Otter Lake for the entire family. It runs two aerators on the lake to prevent winter fish kill and is currently working on obtaining a handicap access fishing dock for the day use park.
Some of the things the Club is involved with at Otter Lake include walleye fish stocking, purchase of Goose Away lights for the day use park, maintaining garbage cans at the boat landings as well as fishing line collectors around the lake, maintaining free use of life vest kiosks for kids visiting the lake and public access for ice fishermen on the east and west sides, maintaining an ice road on the lake for ice fisherman during the winter months, sponsoring park benches around the lake, helping to provide a public fishing dock on the East side of the lake, sponsoring a kids free ice fishing contest, updated playground equipment to include meeting safety standards, and area boat landings.
Known for its pan fishing and also as a great place to take the kids, Otter Lake is located north of Stanley. The Day Use Park can be accessed by turning at the Otter Lake Bait Shop off Highway H north of town, as well as from 170th Avenue off Highway G.
Come on out and support the mission of the Otter Lake Boosters at their July 20 Charcoal Chicken Dinner in the Day Use Park!
