VICTORY HOSPITAL notes Oct. 21 — three x-rays, one “medical” one discharge (mother and son) Oct. 22 — Thorp resident admitted Oct. 23 — Two x-rays, one discharge Oct. 24 — A daughter to Mr. and mrs. Arleigh Western, two women discharged. Oct. 25 — One admission for an accident, one outpatient. Discharged are three women and their children (two babies). Oct. 26 — Thorp woman admitted, woman and baby discharged. Oct. 27 — Daughter born to couple, one female outpatient. Two x-rays, three discharges. Stanley High loses to Medford in close game. War update: It is rumored that butter might be rationed in order to meet the demand for milk and milk products. At Chippewa Falls: Isadore Geist of Boyd was brought to the hospital here, as the results of injuries received near Colburn in an automobile accent.

BOYD News A large crowd attended the last dance of the season given at Woodland Park., Monday evening. The music was furnished by the Boyd Orchestra. Miss Alice Wanish visited friends at Stanley Friday. WORDEN Locals A Halloween party was given at the South Worden School Saturday evening, October 28. Mr. Kitowski, principal of the Thorp High School, gave an interesting talk on the kinds of education, after which various Halloween stunts and games were played. The sum of ten dollars and sixty scanty was realized from the sale of candy and lunches.

A fair audience assembled at Gruber’s Hall on Tuesday evening to listen to a discussion of the issues of the campaign by Hon. Wm. H. Hallam the well known Minneapolis attorney. Anson Green presided and on the stage were Honb. P. J. Cosgrove, candidate for Member of Assembly, Julius Howland, candidate for County Treasurer and Chas. E. Preston, candidate for Clerk of the Court. Dramatic Entertainment. The popular drama, “Santiago,” under the direction of Maj. M. G. Dillenbach, the author of the play, will be presented here on the evenings of Nov. 4th and 5th. The cast is made up of local amateur talent and promises to be of unusual excellence. The entertainment will be for the benefit of the fire department and will therefore receive a generous patronage.”
