The Augusta Police Chief has expressed support for his department policing the Town of Bridge Creek. The Bridge Creek Town Board met with the Augusta City Council to discuss having weekly patrol of the town and help in enforcing town ordinances. To do this, an ordinance will be passed by both to establish a joint municipal court to handle such ordinance cases and enforcement. +++ Located between Hixon and Northfield, Superior Fresh, LLC, has 600,000 Atlantic salmon growing, with 2,000 to 3,000 harvested per week. Also growing a variety of lettuce, the company is able to provide organic fresh salmon and lettuce to local food markets.

With COVID-19 cases rising, students in the Galesville- Ettrick-Trempealeau Schools will be wearing masks from September 28, to at least October 15, when the requirement will be re-examined. +++ The Arcadia School District saved about $500,000 more than expected during the 2020-21 school year. +++The Bruce Valley Church, located on County Road D, Strum will be holding their annual lutefisk, meatball dinner, October 10. An adult meal including lutefisk, meatballs and lefse will be $16, but those wanting just a meatball meal will pay $11.

Homecoming Week at Mondovi was marked with the tragic loss of 17 year old Dylan Paassa, a senior at the high school. A memorial service was held for him at the Mondovi football field on Wednesday, September 29. Dylan had tested positive for COVID-19 and was hospitalized with pneumonia on Sep tember14. After admission to the ICU, he developed blood clots in his legs, which resulted in his transfer to Minnesota Children’s Hospital in Minneapolis. Treatment for Dylan’s myocarditis and collapsed lungs was unsuccessful.
