Boyd Little League wraps up exciting 2023 season

As the 2023 season was wrapping up, Boyd Little League hosted their annual softball and t-ball tournament August 3rd -5th with players playing on both fields. The players worked hard and gave it their all as each of the nine little league teams played eight games altogether with the seven t-ball teams playing four games. The Bucks were the tournament Little League Champions with the Brewers in second place and the Giants taking third. At the end of the year picnic on August 10th all softball players received certificates and medals after they enjoyed delicious food supplied by the Boyd Little League and served by Little League President Brad and Chris Benson and volunteers.  New this year, three brand new bikes were raffled off along with additional fun prizes. Boyd Little League also presented two scholarships this year with one going to Kaden Drehmel and the other to Regie Benson.

Bob Geist, who also played in the League when he was growing up and has been the umpire for many years in Boyd Little League, shared his thoughts on the league. “It is great to see how the league has adapted and changed throughout the years. Hopefully with the addition of the t-ball field, the league will continue to succeed for years to come. I truly enjoy watching the way the kids support each other and cheer each other on. It is always great to see a kid who has struggled throughout the year step up and make a great play or get a hit that makes a big difference in the game.”

He credited the ongoing success of the league to the volunteers and organizers. “I hope by helping, the league can continue for a long time. There are definitely a lot of people that work hard to keep the league going. They are the ones that deserve the credit for the continuing success of Boyd Little League.” Congratulations to each of the dedicated players and coaches!
