City of Stanley’s parking violation fines will increase

At the October 29th City Council meeting Police Chief Lance Weiland explained to the Council that the fines for parking violations are currently $15 for Stanley residents and $20 for Boyd residents. He added that new parking tickets need to be ordered for the City of Stanley and the Village of Boyd and it would be easier if the prices matched as the police department services both Stanley and Boyd. Mayor Haas agreed that it would make it easier for the officers. Weiland further explained that if the fines aren’t paid the fine costs increase as time goes on and can result in license plate suspension. Overnight winter parking enforcement begins on November 15th.

The Council approved the motion to increase the initial cost of parking ticket violations to $20 for the City of Stanley to match the Village of Boyd.
