The City of Stanley proudly welcomes new Alderperson, Terry Metzger, who was recently appointed by Mayor Mike Henke to represent Ward 3. Metzger is a dedicated community member whose heart is rooted in hometown values and a vision for local growth.
She has called Stanley home for almost four years and in that time, Metzger has become an active part of the community, both in her work and through her volunteer efforts. She is a familiar face at the Stanley IGA, where she works in the deli and bakery departments, helping serve residents with a smile.
Family plays a central role in Metzger’s life. She is a proud mother to a daughter, Jaimie, who is married to Karl, and a son, Brian, who is married to Jessica. Her family has grown to include six beloved grandchildren: Maggie (married to Kaleb), Emily (married to Mason), Heidi, Bailey and a set of twins—Kaleb and James.
Metzger chose to serve on the Stanley City Council with the goal of learning more about how the city operates and finding ways to help it flourish.
“I hope to improve the city and see it grow,” she shared. One of her biggest hopes is to see the downtown area become a more vibrant place for residents and visitors alike.
She values the “small hometown feel” that Stanley offers and hopes to enrich community life. Metzger believes the city could benefit most from new ideas and initiatives that help liven things up—bringing fresh energy and connection to its residents.
In addition to her professional life, Metzger is actively involved in the community. She is a member of the Stanley Rodeo Committee (STPR) and has volunteered with the rodeo for nearly five years. She’s also helped out at the Cheese Curd Stand, lending her time to events that celebrate Stanley’s spirit and traditions.
As Metzger steps into her role on the council, she brings a mix of optimism and dedication. Her commitment to learning, growing, and giving back promises to be a valuable asset to the city council.
Stanley is fortunate to have a council member who not only works hard but also deeply cares about the people and the place she calls home. Welcome, Councilmember Terry Metzger!
