A local Stanley resident is going hunting—southwest of the local Historical Society along the Wolf River, to be more specific. Contained in the consent agenda as approved Monday Sept. 16 with a motion by Mark Fitzsimmons and Kevin Hendrick- son, the resident identified in the council packet as Ryan Lewallen of North Franklin Street , will be using a compound bow, for whitetail deer.

The dates specified for the in-city hunt span Sept. 17, 2022 through Jan. 8 of next year, with all necessary permits accounted for. The two parcels to be hunted on measure a total of 18.18 acres and contains a government building off Church Street, along with two city wells. The rest is empty

The area behind the Historical Society will see compound bow use after a local resident filed paperwork at City Hall to do so listing the parcels shown above, the item being approved in the consent agenda. Map image from Chippewa County GIS.
