Earl F. Meyer, age 75, of Stanley, WI. passed away unexpectedly Thursday, January 19th, 2023 at his home.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held on January 26th, 2023 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Boyd with Father William Felix officiating. Interment was at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cemetery, Boyd, WI.

Earl was born on October 15th, 1947, the son of Henry and May (Wisocky) Meyer in Chippewa Falls, WI. He graduated from Stanley-Boyd High School in 1965. While in school he was active in FFA and received various awards.

Earl grew up and was raised on his parent’s farm in the Township of Edson. He worked hard alongside his father who had become seriously disabled with diabetes in the early 1960’s. While still in High School, he took over the responsibilities of the farm operation. He had a very nice herd of holstein dairy cows and he took great pride in the many milk quality awards he received. Along with the dairy herd, he and his father owned and rented several hundred acres of cropland from which they sold some grain. They also ran a steer-beef raising operation on another farmstead that they owned. Earl later sold the dairy herd, and up to the present time he owned a small herd of beef cattle and sold crops from the farm.

During his many years of farming, Earl dreamed of having a new machine shed. This he did build, and incorporated into it a beautiful heated workshop filled with his many tools. At that time he started doing a lot of repair jobs for neighbors.

Earl was a 3rd generation farmer and his farm was impressively neat and clean. Great pride was taken in keeping everything immaculate; the farm, buildings, lawn, machinery, etc.

In the fall, Earl took pleasure in participating in the annual local plowing demonstrations, plowing with his prized John Deere “G” Tractor.

Earl derived a great deal of pleasure traveling many, many miles with his 1979 Ford pick-up truck, and his beloved Honda Goldwing motorcycle. Since about 1990 when he started riding, he covered nearly every state in the USA, visiting many National attractions, such as the Statue of Liberty on Liberty Island and Disneyland in California, as well as many provinces of Canada.

Earl never tired of reminiscing about old times with his many friends. He also liked going to antique steam and tractor shows. He was recognized as being a very good neighbor.

Earl was an active member of the Knights of Columbus, proudly participating in their functions.

He served dutifully as an usher at church services.

Earl is survived by many close relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and May Meyer.

Special thank you to Father William Felix for officiating, the pallbearers, the ones who prepared the meal, the kindness and assistance of Earl’s caring neighbors, and the Leiser Funeral Home for assisting the family and friends with funeral arrangements.
