Uplifting music filled the air as members of Faith Evangelical Free Church enjoyed the worship songs of Christian music artist Brendan Brooks on July 17. The Church hosted the special event beginning at 6 p.m. featuring Brooks along with The Brickhouse Pub and Grub food truck and delicious popsicles and cold treats from Treat O’Clock Ice Cream Bike. As the sun pushed through the cloudy skies, Faith Free congregants lined up their chairs for a time of worship, fellowship, and good food. Senior Pastor Matt Miklasz was happy with the attendance for the event, mentioning that “the weather was great.” “It all worked out really, really well. I think people enjoyed it and it was a nice breath of fresh air for people,” commented Pastor Matt. He hopes to continue with the events as he feels it encourages congregants to grow in a sense of community and feel more at home in the Church.
Brooks, who performed a mix of classic Church songs and his own original music while event attendees sang along, admits that singing praise to God is an important tool for a believer and desires to expand God’s Kingdom.
“Worship music is definitely vital in a Christian’s life,” said Brooks. “To me a good worship song is a prayer that has already been spoken. It’s not a performance but rather it connects someone’s heart to God. Worship also is not just confined to the songs sung in church. It should be a lifestyle.” He added, “We can worship God on the way to work Monday morning and Friday night. Everything we say and do should give glory to God.”
