Starting with the chili cookoff, the first-place prize went to Tricia Smith, while second place went to Chelsea Fiegler, third being split between Mike Huebner and the Haas Brothers, the names of the latter being Eugene and Wayne Haas.

With tasters voting by letter of the alphabet from A to E, Smith’s entry contained beef, beans, onion, and tomato with chopped green pepper in a medium consistency sauce meat broth.

For Fiegler, ingredients included a high meat contest with both kidney and dark brown beans, along with some vegetables and a medium consistency meat broth with a bit of bite to it.

For Huebner, it was meat, celery, green peppers, tomatoes and bean in a medium consistency meat broth, but without as much bite.

For Eugene and Wayne Haas, analysis by alphabet entry shows it to have included ham, beef, macaroni, celery, along with small, white and large brown bean in a thicker consistency sauce.
