An early morning fire Monday Oct. 31 has resulted in partial loss at Sauder’s Sheds, located north of Highway 29 on County G between Stanley and Boyd.
Boyd-Edson-Delmar (B-E-D) depart- ment fire inspector Eric Weiland said that the call came in during early morn- ing past 2 a.m., with the fire under con –
trol by prior to sunrise and crews on site for a total of five or six hours. Located in the response area for Boyd-Edson-Del- mar Fire and Ambulance, the fire at Sauder’s Sheds also saw assistance from Stanley Fire with a full response raised by Cadott. Owned by Marty Sauder, the business lost two building portions on the south end along with a roof collapse in the middle. The fire also affected the southernmost rafters of a tin roof addition to the north, resulting in a sagged roof on the south end, though not a collapse.
No one was injured in the blaze, which is still under investigation. The business reportedly plans to rebuild, though no official damage estimate was available as of press time.
