Live music, games and activities among fun planned to last all weekend

“People can park in parking lots and the regular places they can park at the Rodeo and other events at the park,” SCA President Kristi Weiland said of the soon arriving Fall Festival at Chapman. “There will be no parking signs and barricades where people can’t park.”

Coming Saturday to Chapman Park, is the First Annual Fall Festival sponsored by the Stanley Community Association. With proceeds from the event to be used for new playground equipment at Chapman Park, here’s a list of what Fest goers can look forward to over the two day event, with things kicking off at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Starting out at 9 a.m. the First Annual Fall Festival kicks off with a vendor fair at 9 a.m. that runs till dinnertime, with kickball available for kids on the Chapman Park Baseball Field, also at 9 a.m. Saturday.

Come 10 a.m., the fun increases, with tickets and wristbands available to purchase for a Rock N’ Roll To Go Family Fun Zone.

Opening at 11 a.m and running until 9 p.m., meanwhile, will be a food court and beer tent, sponsored by the Stanley Rodeo Committee.

Kicking off in the band shell at 1 p.m. Saturday will be a Talent Show sponsored by Tessy’s Popcorn Delights, while a live polka band sponsored by Coldwell Bank realtor Lacey Granger will kick off in the band shell at 3 p.m. The polka band will be called Richie Yurovich & Polkarioty.

Following up the polka band will be more live music by Rattlefoot, sponsored in turn by Amanda Schneider, a realtor with KW Diversified. Rattle foot will run through 9:30 p.m. Saturday, with things starting back up at 8 a.m. Sunday.

Opening Sunday morning in the Community Center at Chapman Park will be a Pancake Breakfast from Our Savior’s Lutheran, while the Community Building will hold a silent auction from 8 a.m .to 3 p.m.

Starting once again at 9 a.m. Sunday will be the Vendor Fair, while kickball will be available from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Chapman Park Baseball Field.

Starting at 9 a.m. Sunday there will be a Pumpkin Carving Contest with pre-carved pumpkins brought in for judging at the bandshell.

Starting at 10 a.m. Sunday its the Kids Fun Run, while children’s entertainer David Landau will be on hand from 10:30 a.m. to 11:15 a.m., presented by the D.R. Moon Memorial Library in the Community Building.

From 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. there will be a Rock N’ Roll To Go Family Fun Zone, with a food court and Chili Cookoff from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Come 1 p.m. there will be Community Bingo in the Community Building, with Frisbee Golf lessons and a Round robin Practice Tournament throughout the weekend. Weiland had a last reminder before things get started.

“We’d like to remind people all proceeds from the event will go towards more community events and to our fund for new playground equipment at Chapman Park,” she said of the Fall Festival this weekend.

The fun starts Saturday at 9 a.m., down at Chapman Park.
