Derks Meats has officially opened at their new facility located just east of their previous location at Derks Farms. Located at 33802 115th Avenue in Boyd, the new 50x66 building features a retail storefront, slaughter room and processing area where the freshest, hormone free, state inspected quality beef is made available for purchase. With the addition of the new building, cattle can be brought onsite to be slaughtered room and processed.

“Now we’ve got our own license to do it all ourselves,” co-owner Matt Derks explains of the main difference in having the new building with its own slaughter room and processing area. He adds that it’s convenient not having to travel back and forth to Augusta to process the beef. Derks mentions that they hope to soon offer shipping for their products as well.

Open Monday through Friday from 8 am to 5pm and Saturdays from 8 am to 12 pm, the retail store front has a wide variety of fresh meat products available for purchase. From country style ribs to tenderloins, skirt steaks and chuck eye steaks to all beef brats, there is something for everyone who visits. Derks Meats also features cheese products from LaGrander’s Hillside Dairy, farm fresh eggs starting at $3 a dozen, maple syrup, honey, and other local products.
