Girls Scouts fundraising with ‘Candy Cane My Yard’

Girl Scout Troops 3241 (Leaders Kate Bourget and Becca Johnson) and Troop 3475 (Leaders Kate and Liza Bourget) are fundraising to take 15 Girl Scouts to Sa – vannah, GA in the next 1 to 2 years. While in Savannah the girls will learn about the founder of Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low, and tour her home, among many oth – er site seeing adventures. Both troops have been working very hard this year doing multiple fundraisers, consisting of cookie sales, a garage sale, sweet corn and now the "Candy Cane My Yard" fundraiser. Troop 3241 has partici – pated in the Trunk or Treat and is currently working on their Silver Award, the highest award a Cadette Girl Scout can earn. Troop 3475 is also working on a very special award, their Bronze award, once again, the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn. Troop 3475 donated cookies to the police department and each Troop loves giving back to their community, so many ideas in store for the upcoming months. Candy Cane My Yard is similar to the flamingo flocking idea but with GIANT candy canes and includes a letter from Santa himself. Our Girl Scout Elves will go the the individuals home, work as qui –

dy canes, leave the Santa letter and chil – dren will wake up to this surprise the next morning. Some of those who have signed up are using the idea for when their Elf on the Shelf arrives, as an extra surprise for when St. Nick comes, birthday surpris – es and all around a just because surprise. Candy canes will be placed in yards start –

ing 12/1 to 12/23. Individuals may sign up by either com – pleting an online Google document, which can be found on the "Stanley-Boyd Ad – venture Seekers" Facebook page. There is also a form on that page that can be printed or we can have a form emailed to them- send an email to: [email protected] com to request one be sent to you. For payment we accept a check made payable to Girl Scouts and mailed to: Liza Bour – get N15964 Copenhaver Ave, Stanley.
