Still looking to celebrate with the Rodeo over?
Not to fear. Another summer event that promises to light up the sky is coming to town this Saturday. Should inclement weather intervene, that date will move to Sunday.
Starting at 2 p.m. on July 2, an Independence Day celebration will be held at Chapman Park, with access gained from West Eighth Avenue. The fun starts with opening craft and vendor booths, while a bean bag tournament and the beer tent open an hour later at 3 p.m.
Come 4 p.m., it’s all for the kids, with two bounce houses, a rubber duck pond, arts, crafts, and more. Team USA will be holding football drills and Derk’s Farms Beef will be holding a rawe with meat boxes.
Come 8:50 p.m. at night, the 50/50 drawing will be held, while a flag folding ceremony will take place at 8:45 p.m. Colors will be presented at 9:30 p.m., while a 21-gun salute will take place at 9:40 p.m., with fireworks due to begin at 9:45 p.m. The fireworks will be overseen by licensed and insured professional Shawn Moretti.
