Josh Seidl is appointed to vacancy on Stanley Council

Posted

Josh Seidl, a lifelong resident of Stanley, was appointed on July 3rd to the Stanley City Council filling the vacant Ward 2 seat which became available when previous Alderperson Kevin Hendrickson took time off for family reasons. Seidl, who will seek reelection in April 2024, decided to apply for the empty Council seat because it’s something he had an interest in and it felt like the “right time.”

Seidl, a diesel mechanic at Haas Sons Inc., grew up in Stanley and graduated from Stanley-Boyd high school. Josh and his wife, Toni, a Stanley-Boyd school board member who also attended school at Stanley-Boyd, have been married for 13 years and have 3 daughters, Alexis Jane, Kylee and Abigail, and a three-year old son named Marcus. For Josh and his family, serving the Stanley community is something they enjoy doing together, whether it’s selling cotton candy at the Stanley Truck Pull, helping with the Stanley Rodeo Breakfast, or spending time with residents at local care facilities. Josh, Toni, and their family attend Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and their daughters are involved in 4H and Girl Scouts. Seidl shares why his family chose Stanley as their home, “I enjoy raising my children in the same community I grew up in and having them attend the same school that my wife and I attended.” He adds, “I also enjoy the connections we've made with the people we've met along the way, and all the things the town has to offer.”

Josh explains what he hopes to accomplish during the rest of his term, “I want to see ordinances being enforced; to help make the community a cleaner, friendly, safer place to live.” He mentions that he would like to make many changes in Stanley with the majority of them pertaining to improving the look of the community. He also discusses what the City of Stanley could benefit from the most. “I think the City could benefit from more people being involved and attending council meetings, school board meetings, and different community events.  It is a great way to be informed, and to show support for the town we live in.” Seidl remarks that he will use his voice to help make this town “a cleaner, better place to live.”
