The D. R. Moon Memorial Library got a visit from Professor Isabella Gross of UW-Eau Claire for National Poetry Month Thursday April 25. Gross has a Masters of Fine Arts and operates a micropress called And Then Publishing, recently putting out the work “Frog Songs.” She started her Thursday presentation outlining the history of the written word and publishing, starting with cuneiform and scrolls, before moving to the emergence of books, block printing, chapbooks, and zines more recently. The library event then transitioned into a poetry reading where all gathered were given an opportunity to read their favorite poem for the day, with food and refreshments also being provided.
