Stanley-Boyd Orioles 7th and 8th Grade Girls Volleyball teams ended their season on October 10th with a strong finish against the Cadott Hornets. This year’s season was marked by dedication and camaraderie, culminating in a series of exciting matches that showcased the team’s hard work. Under the guidance of their enthusiastic coaches, Kimberly Goettl and Gloria Steivang, the team honed their skills, focusing on fundamentals and communication on the court. The encouragement and enthusiasm from their coaches and families played a crucial role in creating an unforgettable experience for the girls. Coach Goettl, who led the 7th grade girls volleyball team, reflected on the team’s impressive volleyball season, celebrating their achievements and growth throughout the year.
“The girls grew as players in game knowledge and skills as well as learning the importance of being a great team player and leader on and off the court,” she said. She mentioned that it was fun to watch the progress the team made over the season. “I am proud of all of my athletes!” Goettl commented.
8th Grade Girls Volleyball Coach Steivang expressed her pride in being the coach and mentor for the Stanley-Boyd Middle School Girls Volleyball team, highlighting the privilege it has been to guide such a dedicated group of young athletes.
“The 8th grade team members were amazingly supportive teammates and had an impressive historic run,” she shared, celebrating their remarkable accomplishment of 17 match wins and 1 loss.
“From early season on the girls practiced hard and learned that reaction time, understanding their positions, shrugging off mistakes, and embracing team chemistry/camaraderie was the ‘key’ to have fun and to enjoy the game,” Steivang said. “I am very proud of their accomplishments,” she added.
As the season comes to a close, the teams look forward to the future where their potential for growth is limitless. The Middle School Girls Volleyball teams have improved their skills and formed lasting bonds, setting the stage for bright futures as Stanley-Boyd Orioles. Go Orioles!
