Ringelspiel 2023 kicks off May 26, and two contestants are competing for the honor of Miss Boyd. Their names are Delani Mercier and MacKenzie Stefanakos.
Starting with Mackenzie, the Stanley-Boyd junior is the daughter of Dayna and David Gossage. Mackenzie siblings are Zoe, Ava, Jerzee, Brylea, Hailee, Avery, Mattix, and Remington. Her school activities include youth mentoring and JAG (Jobs for America’s Graduates).
Also in FFA as part of community activities, Mackenzie’s hobbies and interests include singing, drawing, and doing her sister’s hair. Her future plans are to go to CVTC for Cosmetology.
As to Delani Mercier, the daughter of John and Tracey Mercier is a Stanley-Boyd Junior, with a brother named Ashton. Her school activities include FBLA, Educators Rising, Drama Club, JAG, and Concert Choir. Mercier has also been involved in Band, Volleyball, Art Club, FFA, Student Council, and the Girl Scouts.
In terms of community activities, Mercier mentors SB students, has picked up trash throughout the community, worked concession stands for school sports, sold 50/50 raffle tickets and made a tie blacnet for local homeless shelters, bird feeders with elementary students for Earth Day, collected shelter supplies, planted trees at Chapman Park, and taken part in the Orioles Achieve Program.
Mercier’s hobbies and interests include art, babysitting, reading, crafting, singing, hanging out with friends, and writing. Her future plans are to attend the University of Wisconsin-Stout for a bachelor’s degree in either Early Childhood Education or Elementary Education (K - 5th).
Decided soon, the new Miss Boyd and court will take their first float ride in the Ringlelspiel parade on Sunday.
