A few new faces attended the Town of Thorp’s caucus on Tuesday evening, where important nominations were made for the upcoming election. With current Chairman Louis Andruszkiewicz filing non-candidacy and choosing not to seek reelection, the position of chairman is up for grabs. Michael Belke, a resident of the Town of Thorp, was the sole nominee for Chairman. In addition, Bob Kodl, the current 2nd Supervisor, was nominated for the position of 1st Supervisor with no other contenders. Andruszkiewicz, however, won’t be leaving his role in local government, as he was the sole nominee for 2nd Supervisor. Current Clerk Arlene Kodl was nominated to continue in her position as Clerk, with no other nominations put forward.
The Treasurer position will see competition, with Ray Jacks and Michelle Pogodzonski, the Clerk/Treasurer for the City of Thorp, both nominated to fill the spot currently held by Rita Derks, who has served the township for an impressive 35 years. The elected candidates will serve a two-year term starting April 14th, following the election on April 1st.
