WITH STANLEY LIONS PRESIDENT DAVID JANKOSKI
This Lions Moment will focus on a more in-depth look at Lions Camp Rosholt. The Lions Camp is what most long time members of Lions identify as their number one reason for being a Lion. Camp Rosholt, located near Stevens Point, serves six major populations: Blind or Visually Handicapped, Deaf or Hard of Hearing, Diabetics, Individuals With Intellectual Disabilities, Autism and Epilepsy. The camps goals are to foster a positive self-concept, promote greater independence, provide an opportunity for social interaction and development of social skills, develop outdoor recreation skills and to have fun. The camp provides swimming, boating, crafts, environmental education, performing arts, challenge course, archery, campouts, inner-tubes, mud pit and rope swing. Eligibility requirements for attending camp are: Wisconsin resident, managed social and behaviorally in a group of 1 staff and 6 campers, independent in self-care, and meet requirements for each disability served. The camp is provided at no cost to the camper or their family. The $966 per week is provided by the Lions Clubs of Wisconsin. The Stanley Lions Club contribute towards helping fund this camp annually.
