The regular varsity football season rushing to a close, the Orioles headed to Carson Park Saturday to face Regis for the number one spot in the Conference. Finishing the first quarter with Stanley-Boyd 12 points ahead before Regis answered with 14 of its own in the second, the competition ended with Regis carrying the day against Stanley-Boyd 35-25. “We had a lot of players make some great plays throughout the game,” Koenig said. “Our offense played well and our defense played outstanding. Unfortunately, there were a lot of opportunities and situations I wish we could have back. Some assignments and responsibilities were not communicated clearly and the Eau Clare private school made us pay for them.”
Asked what the team needs to do moving forward, Koenig shared the following.
“ Our goal every week is to get better,” he said. “We need to bounce back from the disappoint and prepare for a good Elk Mound team.”
