Reclaim the Magic is coming to Chapman Park this December 15.
Taking place at the Community Building at Chapman Park Sunday, Dec. 15 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the event put on by Reclaimed Tavern and community partners will see 275 wrapped presents and 70 movie passes given away, among other perks. Presents will be given on a first come, first serve basis.
Also at the Dec. 15 event will be free hot chocolate and cookies, hay rides through Chapman Park, and a visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus. Sleigh rides will also be available, as will family photos.
“It’s about my kid,” Reclaimed Tavern owner Tom Larson shared of the inspiration for the event. “I’m lucky enough to see that magic in his eyes each year and there’s a limited time when kids believe in magic.” With Larson buying gifts since October, some $3,800 has gone into the event, including $1,200 from a portion of food and drink sales deposited in a collection jar, $1,400 from generous community donors, and another $1,200 out of pocket. Also included in the event cost are toy purchases made since August. Larson said the Stanley Theater worked with him to make the 70 movie passes possible.
Arriving Sunday, Dec. 15 at 4 p.m., the second annual ‘Reclaim the Magic’ gift event is a way to help spread holiday cheer. Tell your friends and stop on by!
