Ringelspiel now in planning stages

Planning is underway for the 2023 Boyd Ringlespiel Days, held at Lotz Park in Boyd over Memorial Day weekend, May 26, 27 and 28. The Boyd Chamber of Commerce sponsors the event and is working hard to make the weekend a great time for family and friends.

First off, the Miss Boyd queen contest will be held on Thursday night this year, a change from the Friday night of previous years. This will give the new queen more time to reign over the weekend events.  The event will be held at the American Legion Hall in Boyd. Any young lady who may be interested in competing for Miss Boyd may contact Carol Pilgrim at caroljean2@hotmail.com. Additional information regarding the contest will be forthcoming.

All weekend long, Spectrum Carnival will be providing rides for the kids. There will be discount wristband sales starting in May at local businesses. Also, all weekend, the famous Stanley Rodeo Club deep fried cheese curds, and the St Joseph’s school food wagon will be available.

Friday evening will feature the band “Another Road” which plays classic rock, country, and pop music. Free music will be played from 8-midnight at the beer tent.

Saturday will bring a flurry of activity with the Pedal Pull starting at 1pm. This event is free to enter and will include prizes for the contestants. Also on Saturday, Donna Thiess of PAINT ME FIRST, will offer free face painting to kids from 1:30-4:00. Donna is a very talented artist from Eau Claire and will make the kids look awesome!  Bingo will be played in the pavilion during the day with many prizes for the lucky winners. Also in the works is a wiffle ball tournament. Details are being worked out for the number of teams and players per team, entry fee, prizes, etc. So, start warming up those arms and legs. Participants should be at least 13 years of age, with no limit on the maximum age. A dart tournament is also being discussed.

Saturday night will bring a popular local band to the stage. “4TH FLOOR” will be performing their music for the crowd from eight to midnight. Some may remember when they performed at Cadott’s Rock Fest in 2013. “4th FLOOR” only does a few shows per year, most recently at Loopy’s dome in Chippewa, but they will be rocking the night in Boyd on May 27.  Tickets for the show are now available at Eventbrite.com, and will also be available at local businesses, including Boyd Catering and Northwestern Bank-Boyd, sometime in April.

Sunday will feature the parade down Boyd’s main street starting at 1pm.  The Boyd Lions will be cooking up grilled chicken in the park.  After the parade until 4pm, “Rock N Roll To Go” will be set up in the park to entertain all ages.  Sunday afternoon and evening from 4pm – 8pm will feature the music of “Bona Fide”, playing a classic rock/country mix.

As you can see, there is a lot going on for Ringlespiel Days! Please support the Boyd Chamber of Commerce as they work to make this a great event. If interested in helping out the Chamber, feel free to contact Jeff Zais at 715-313-2052.
