On September 26th, John Sackett, President of the Royal Credit Union Foundation, along with Doug Olson and Melanie Baumgart, presented the D.R. Moon Memorial Library with a $110,000 donation for the Library’s Building Connections Building Project. The generous donation will be designated specifically for the Children's Area of the Library. Sackett explained the Royal Credit Union Foundation has always supported initiatives that foster education, health, and the arts and is dedicated to the renovation and expansion of the community. “The core purpose of the credit union and foundation is to make a positive in the lives that we touch and the communities that we touch,” said Sackett. He added, “We believe in building community, not just through words but through meaningful action and the creation of spaces that bring people together.” He stated that the RCU Foundation acknowledges that libraries are more than just a place to get books they are a vital part of the community enhancing the quality of life for everyone in the community.
Little Friends of the D.R. Moon Memorial Library from Firehouse Friends Childcare Center in Stanley also attended the presentation of the generous donation from the RCU Foundation with John Sackett, President of the RCU Foundation, and D.R. Moon Memorial Library Director Elizabeth Miniatt holding the check. “The Royal Credit Union Foundation’s Children’s Area will provide generations of children with a space where they can learn, play, and grow,” stated Sackett. “We are truly honored to support this project.”
