Surrounded by his family, Russell A. Tetzlaff, Sr. “Bubba” peacefully passed into Heaven on October 12th 2022, at Lake Hallie Memory Care, at the age of 90 years. He was born an only child on July 15, 1932, in Kenosha to the late Russell L. and Eleanor (Madison) Tetzlaff. Russ grew up in Kenosha and graduated from Kenosha High. Bubba started out in the family refrigerated truck repair business and then chose to serve in the Army for twelve years from 1952-1964. As a sergeant in the Army, he was stationed in Germany where he met the love of his life, Ruth Schindler. They married on March 19, 1955 and moved back to the United States finally settling back in Kenosha where they raised their four children. Bubba continued working in refrigerated truck repair and mechanics. He was an incredible mechanic and there was no machine or vehicle he couldn’t fix. In 1974, Ruth became the senior Pastor of the Remnant Church of GOD where Bubba became an active member, serving for many years as an elder. Bubba was much loved by the entire congregation and will be sadly missed. In 1999, Russ and Pastor Ruth finally settled in Stanley, where they enjoyed their time with their Church family, children, grandchildren and great- grandchildren, whose pictures Bubba proudly displayed on his many t-shirts. Bubba loved his family very much, could grill the best steak filets and enjoyed many Sunday morning motorcycle rides with his wife. He will also be remembered for his sweet tooth, especially his love of jelly beans and snickers. Bubba will be dearly missed by his wife, Pastor Ruth, of 67 years, his children, Margarethe (Andrew) Boettcher of Stanley, Russell Tetzlaff, Jr. of Stanley, Michael (Carol) Tetzlaff of Pleasant Prairie, and Diana (Louis) Clausi of Stanley, ten grandchildren and eighteen great-grandchildren. Russ was preceded in death by his parents Russell L. and Eleanor Tetzlaff, an infant grandson John Russell Tetzlaff and his son-in- law James Eckmann. While his wife and family miss Bubba here on Earth, we know that we will be reunited with him again when JESUS comes to take us all to Heaven. Until then, we will keep our memories with him close in our hearts. “Therefore you now have sorrow; but I will see you again and your heart will rejoice, and your joy no one will take from you.” John 16:22 A Celebration of Bubba’s life was held at noon on Tuesday, October 18, 2022 at the Plombon Funeral Home. Interment followed in Evergreen Cemetery-Stanley. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday and one hour prior to services, all at the funeral home. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Lake Hallie Memory Care and Mayo Hospice for the kindness, loving care and friendship so freely given to Bubba.
