Sauder Storage Sheds rebuilds after fire, aims to open beginning of May

Marty and Linda Sauder, owners of Sauder Storage Sheds on County Hwy G, vividly remember the early morning fire last October that resulted in the loss of their building, including their gift shop and office. On October 31, Marty Sauder, who has volunteered with the Boyd Fire Department for three years, was woken up at 3 am to his pager going off, only to discover the fire was at his own property. He remarks, “It was tough, that’s for sure.” Losing their building was a setback but Marty and Linda are grateful that they have been able to rebuild. With construction on the new building set to be completed in approximately three weeks on the 4100 sq ft building, Sauder hopes to be open to the public in the beginning of May. Half of the new building will house a gift shop that will feature home décor and gifts and the other half will house the outdoor department of the company.
