Meeting Monday July 25 in the high school library, the Stanley-Boyd School Board heard many updates.

Among them were unovcial budget predic tions for the upcoming school year, along with school remodel plan details.

With the board later moving to approve remodel plans for the parking lot and interior, bids were pushed out a year to 2024, over $6 million currently saved towards the project in the district’s capital improvement fund. Starting with budget predictions, superintendent Jeu Koenig had some numbers for the board.

“Keep in mind that these are not audited,” Koenig said of budget predictions. “So we’ll see our audited numbers next month.” With that being said, the predictions, were as follows.

“Our food service fund has been going up the last two years because the federal government reimburses us at a rate higher than we charge,” Koenig said, then making known that this was over.

The trust fund the district used to pay out for retirees was still healthy, while the Community Services Fund was down roughly $6,000.

Asked by board member Lanse Carlson if this number included the aquatic director’s salary, Koenig said the director’s salary was split between Fund 10 and Fund 80, meaning between the district’s general fund and that tied directly to the pool.

The bottom line district wide was a pro- jected fall of $70,939 in revenue with a cor responding $322,000 increase in salary and benefits for the district.

Also included in the mix were a projected rise in fuel and supply costs for the district, while ovcial budget numbers are due out later this fall.

Superintendent Jeff Koenig filled in board members at the July school board meeting.
