Stanley Area Chamber of Commerce hosts annual Dinner, unveils Chamber Bucks program

Posted

Local business owners and community members gathered Tuesday, Feb. 4, at Debbie’s On Broadway for the annual Stanley Area Chamber of Commerce dinner meeting. The event served as a platform for networking, business updates, and community initiatives aimed at fostering economic growth in community.
A key highlight of the evening was the introduction of “Chamber Bucks,” a new incentive program designed to encourage spending at local businesses. These $25 checks, which function similarly to gift certificates, can be redeemed exclusively at participating chamber member businesses. Chamber officials hope this initiative will boost the local economy and incentivize business participation in the chamber.
“We’ve been working on this for a long time, trying to figure out the best way to implement it,” said Debbie Haas, chamber treasurer. “Now that we’ve found a solution, we’re excited to get it going.”
Chamber secretary Nikki Witt provided an update on membership confirmations, website improvements, and upcoming events, including Coffee and Commerce gatherings designed to keep business owners informed without adding additional meetings to their schedules.
Attendees also heard from Aspirus Hospital Chief Administrative Officer of the Northwest Division, Anne Sadowski, who shared exciting updates about the Stanley Hospital, including the addition of new services such as cardiac rehab, wound care, and expanded telehealth options.
The financial report showed the chamber remains in a strong position despite investments in community projects, including Broadway Street flowers, sponsorships, and local events.
In a discussion about community development, representatives from the city shared updates about recent land sales and business developments.
The evening also celebrated the Miss Stanley program, which has been instrumental in helping young women develop confidence and leadership skills. Caroline Johnson, the current Miss Stanley, sent a heartfelt message expressing gratitude for the experience, highlighting the program’s impact on participants.
The event concluded with expressions of appreciation for chamber volunteers, local businesses, and Debbie’s on Broadway for hosting the gathering.
