Competing at Stanley-Boyd Thursday, Sept. 12, the Oriole Cross Country team took home a few medals, both in high school and middle school. Top finishers for Stanley-Boyd included Elihu Krenzelok, John Smit, and Michael Toepfer. The high school girls placed third overall as a team.
Running in the high school boys race, Elihu Krenzelok finished seventh with a time of 19:28. Krenzelok was the only runner for Stanley-Boyd in the high school boys.
As for the high school girls, Mariah Wehling finished 11th with a time of 25:26. Haylee Shakal took 13th with a time of 25:56 while Ava Kempf took 17th with a time of 26:22. Mayah Mahr took 18th with a time of 26:34 and Addy Mahr took 19th with a time of 26:39. Lucy Wundrow took 24th with a time of 27:24, the high school girls placing third overall for the meet.
Running in the middle school boys race meanwhile, John Smit took first with a time of 12:21, while Michael Toepfer placed ninth with a time of 14:25. Thomas Smit took eleventh with a time of 14:30 while Lance Kelly took 12th with a time of 14:47. Zander Kelly took 21st with time of 15:53, Seth Lilla took 31st with a time of 16:39, Finnegan Cody took 32nd with a time of 16:41, and Collin Ogle took 33rd with time of 16:43. Ian Wehling took 46th with a time off 22:09 and Treyton Christoph finished with an undisclosed time and place. The Oriole middle school boys team took second overall with 52 team points.
As for the middle school girls, results from the Thursday meet show Annelysse Kramschster in 11th place with a time of 16:25, Quinn Hendzal in 25th with a time of 18:04. Evelyn Czubakowski finished 28th with a time of 18:25, while Edlyn Wundrow finished 30th with a time of 18:31 and Natalie Lilla took 36th with a time of 18:52.The middle school girls placed fifth overall as a team with 112 points.
Now in the season, the Orioles compete at Chetek-Weyerhauser Thursday, Sept. 19. Meet start is 4:00 p.m.
