It was a packed house Sunday, May 18 at Stanley-Boyd High School, and the Drama Club and Choir put on a variety show.
The 2 p.m. show combines previous separate shows by the Choir and Drama Club.
"The Drama Club did a talent show, Choir did variety,” Drama Club Advisor Kayleigh Steinmetz shared of past years. “This is the first year we have them together.”
With admission just $2 and proceeds from the show split between drama and choir, seniors Carter Isenberger and Sydney Gundlach emceed the afternoon variety show.
Opening the Sunday show was the middle school choir, with songs including “Dancing Queen,” “Take Me Home, Country Roads” and “How Far I’ll Go.” Next to perform was Kira Lato with a solo entitled “Romantic Flight,” followed by Caroline Johnson with “Never Enough.” Bea Bluhm took the stage next to sing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow,” while Cassidy Kodl performed “Turning Tables.” Closing out the first half of the two part show was “Crowded Tables” by the Concert Choir Sopranos and Altos.
Returning from intermission, Isenberger and Gundlach told jokes as the audience was settled, Act II starting soon after.
Starting out the second half, Grace Schmidt and Kira Lato teamed up to sing “Homeward Bound,” followed by “Found Tonight” from Maya Milliren and Alexis Baughman. Taking the stage after Milliren and Baughman, the Concert Choir performed three numbers, belting out “California Dreamin’,” “Hallelujah,” and “Bohemian Rhapsody.” After the Concert Choir was finished Allison Sayles sang “Savage Daughter,” followed by Sydney Gundlach with “She Used To Be Mine,” about changes over time.
Next on the Variety Show was Alexis Baughman with “I Hope You Dance,” the show closing out with Corey Pahl performing Michael Jackson’s “Bad.”
