August 11
1:32 p.m.
Stanley Police were requested for an EMS call. Officer responded and assisted as needed.
2:45 p.m. Stanley Police were requested for report of an erratic driver on State Highway 29 eastbound from Cadott. Area was checked and vehicle was not located.
7:09 p.m. Police were requested for a personal welfare check. 11:23 p.m. Police were requested for a 911 hang-up call.
August 12
2:52 p.m.
Call received for a woman having possible medical issues at the Stanley Kwik Trip.
4:51 p.m. Caller reported a motorcycle driver making an impolite gesture as they passed on County Highway X between Stanley and Boyd. 5:12 p.m. Civil issue complaint. 5:33 p.m.
Zene Wiese, age 32, was arrested for a valid DOC warrant and later transported to the Chippewa County Jail.
8:05 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for a semi crossing the white fog line on highway 29 eastbound. Driver verbally warned for unsafe lane deviation.
10:16 p.m. Stanley Police conducted a traffic stop for defective brake lamps. Driver verbally warned.
10:21 p.m. Report received of two motorcycles that were westbound on State Highway 29 from Thorp and being operated by individuals who were harassing another motorist. The motorcycle drivers were later located and identified by a county deputy outside the City of Stanley.
August 13
12:54 a.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation, the driver being warned.
1:17 a.m. Another traffic stop was conducted with the result that the driver was warned.
1:36 p.m. Stanley Police were called to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office with a crash that had occurred on Highway 29 at approximately 345th Street. Assistance was provided and crash report was completed.
4:49 p.m. Stanley Police were called to the 200 block of Second Avenue to assist EMS. Assistance was provided until no longer needed.
9:29 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation with the result that Candida Plach, age 48, was cited for operating without a valid license due to expiration in 2017.
10:25 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation with the result that Sadie Buss, age 29, was arrested for OWI (1st offense).
August 14
11:44 a.m.
Stanley Police were called to assist with a case of a missing cat that was possibly taken to a residence on East First Avenue.
3:44 p.m. Stanley police were called to assist the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office with a domestic disturbance in the 8200 block of 345th Street. Assistance was provided in securing the scene until deputies could arrive and officer was no longer needed.
5:09 p.m. Stanley Police were called to the 100 block of East Third Avenue for a vehicle lockout. The vehicle was unlocked on arrival with no further action needed.
6:42 p.m. Police responded to a child abuse complaint. Abuse unsubstantiated and call logged for documentation purposes. 7:33 p.m.
A traffic stop was conducted for moving violations. Desiree Teeters, age 25, was cited for operating without a license and without insurance. She was also warned for a broken windshield.
11:21 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for a moving violation. The driver was issued a 10-day correction warning.
11:58 p.m. A traffic stop was conducted for an equipment violation. The driver was warned.
August 15
3:32 a.m. Police responded to a report of a deer carcass in the lane of traffic on Highway 29. It was located and removed. 12:33 p.m.
Vehicle lockout successfully completed and liability waiver attached.
3:10 p.m. Multiple 911 hang-up calls from a residence that was determined to be a child playing on the telephone. Everyone at the residence was determined to be ok and no issues requiring law enforcement attention were present. 4:50 p.m.
Assistance was provided to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Department with a young child who was locked in a vehicle that was not running at the Otter Lake Day Park. Officer responded as requested and the vehicle was unlocked without issue, the child being found to be ok. 4:53 p.m.
Report of a child custody dispute that had been ongoing from North Stanley. Per previous conversations of the officer with the caller, she was advised that it was a civil matter and would need to be addressed in court as a result.
