The Stanley Police Department has a new officer, and her name is Melissa McDonough.
“I grew up in the western part of Wisconsin and I moved to the Stanley area for college, McDonough shared recently. “I graduated college at CVTC Eau Claire in 2022 with an Associate degree in Criminal Justice. I also graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy at CVTC later that year.”
McDonough says she became interested in law enforcement when she learned she had past experiences that could be used to help others.
"I became interested in law enforcement when I learned I had past experiences that could be used to help others in difficult situations,” she said, adding, “I have a few family members who are also first responders.” With fall her favorite time of year and a deer hunter, McDonough shared more on her philosophy as regards law enforcement.
“My philosophy on law enforcement is to assist the community and build positive connections,” she said.
McDonough will be the primary Boyd officer, replacing Shaun Stark.
