Take a Stand Against Meth, a non-profit organization launched to reduce the impact of methamphetamines in Chippewa County, is hosting a town hall on March 15th from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm at the Stanley Boyd High School Library. The free event will feature education about drugs in our area and communities.  Topics on the agenda include, a discussion regarding Narcan and Harm Reduction, education on adverse childhood experiences and an overview on Crime Stoppers. A Hidden in Plain Sight Room will be available, along with a panel of professionals and those who lived with the experience. Youth 10 years old and up are welcome to attend a session specific for youth with interactive games. Light refreshments will also be served.

According to Take A Stand Against Meth, Chippewa County spends more on drug related health care than any other county in Wisconsin.  There has been a 256% increase in meth-related referrals to the district attorney and a 50% increase in referrals to Child Protective Services since 2015. With the area drug problem on the rise in Chippewa County, it's important for community members to be aware and be informed.
