Marshfield Medical Center Neillsville has opened its 100,000 sq.ft. medical campus nearly two years after breaking ground. The 16-bed hospital includes a 24-7 emergency room, an operating room, and 28 clinician exam rooms, rooms
for telehealth consults and an infusion suite to provide IV treatments, including chemo-therapy. Marshfield Clinic Health System acquired the hospital in 2018 and supported building a new facility. +++ The Loyal Area Historical Society is adding a schoolhouse to their museum complex. It will be built by the Amish. +++ Neillsville's City Council affirmed that its Police Department will remain downtown after the city hall moves to the former BMO Bank building. The PD will be taking over all the space formerly occupied by city hall and will be able to operate an efficient up-to-date department from that location.

On May 10, a damaged gas line caused teh temporary
evacuation of several neighborhoods in Osseo. The damage
was done during street adn road construction. +++ On May 17,
Trempealeau County held a ceremonial groundbreaking ceremony for their new Justice Center. The project has approved bonding
of $44 million and will include a new jail, courtrooms, and there
will be some renovation done to the existing courthouse. The new facility will be located right behind the existing courthouse and will be joined to it at one end.

Despite angry parents trying to force the Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau School Board into lifting its mask requirement at
a previous meeting and parents holding protest signs prior to
teh May 13 school board meeting, the Board upheld the mask
mandate through June 3.
