The Neillsville City Council gave Spooner based Lisenby

Properties a conditional use permit for a coffee shop in the former

Memorial Medical Center, that they are developing into an apart –

ment complex. +++ The Neillsville City Council voted 3-2 to sup

port a dog park being located in Listerman Park. The only catch is there was a question if the public was properly notified on the council agenda. As a result, Mayor Diane Murphy vetoed the dog park location. The veto action was taken primarily due to the im

– proper notification of the public, but Mayor Murphy indicated she is also aware that a significant number of the public are opposed to the location and even having a dog park.+++ Ryan Neville, Chief Administrative Officer of Marshfield Medical Center-Neillsville is leaving his position in Neillsville to become the Marshfield Med

– ical Center- Weston's Chief Administrative Officer. He will also hold the same position for the Marshfield Medical Center -Stevens Point, which is currently under construction.

The Department of Agricultural Communication, Education and Leadership at Ohio State University has announced that Os

tant professor of agri-science education. Her new position will include 65% teaching, 25% research, and 10% extension work.

The Whitehall Area Chamber of Commerce has lead efforts

to install a new "Velkommen to Whitehall" sign. The sign de

notes the Norwegian ancestry prevalent in the community. +++ The Arcadia School District is pursing a dual language program for implementation in the fall of the 2022-2023 school year. The program will begin in kindergarten in the fall of 2022 and rollup through the grade levels from there in future years. The class will be composed of students whose parents have applied for them to

be enrolled, with emphasis on varying Spanish and English apti

tudes among the enrolled students. +++ Arcadia may use its fed eral pandemic relief money to cover a portion of infrastructure for

two pending residential developments.
