At the August 9th monthly board meeting, Town of Thorp Board members discussed a plan to purchase land two miles west of Center Road and Dickerson on the southwest corner to construct a new town hall and garage. The current Town of Thorp garage which holds the town dump truck and other equipment has a water leakage problem, among other issues, that could be a potential future hazard. The Town of Thorp board members voted to hold a special land meeting on August 30th at 6pm at the current town hall to inform town residents of the issues surrounding the need for the new purchase along with more information on the construction of a new town hall as well. The possibility of selling the current shed and town hall will also be discussed at the special August 30th meeting which will set aside a time to allow the public to view the issues at the garage.
